Account Ban Code=045
Its crap like this that makes me hate MMOs.
I login today, and find my account has been perma-banned with no warning or notice for apparently downloading and using some third party program, which of course NCSoft doesn't specify.
Nevermind the fact that I have NEVER downloaded a third party program of any sort, which, being the type of player I am, my entire guild could vouch for.
Its good to know that NCSoft is going after those pesky legit players and perma-banning them, meanwhile the Monk botters continue to have free reign.
This is bullcrap, and I've already e-mailed support, which of course will amount to a form letter stating "too bad." If that's the case, screw ANet and NCSoft, I've been a loyal player since the game came out, have logged in around 1700 hours across various characters, and HAVE NEVER voilated the terms of service in any way, much less tried to hack the game. Retarded.

Unfortunately, this is a fairly standard thread. So here's what happens.
People accuse you of botting, which you deny. You admit at some point that you do indeed farm, and it's possible that you may have looked like a bot. You will then be informed to continue contacting tech support, and after a few tries they will indeed remove the ban.
In between, there will be a minor flame-fest between those that 'have been banned for the exact same thing' and the 'you must have done something illegal' crowd. Ignore those posts.
So, let's cut to the chase, keep working on the tech support team. They will eventually be convinced, unless they do indeed have indisputable proof that you actually have been botting. But I'll assume for now that you haven't, so keep on them and let us know how it turns out.
So... where do you solo farm anyhow?

Just keep sending tickets. I think this has happened to me three times now, the latest being modding the textures.

I'm sorry, some people in GW are just anxious to get other people banned.

is that because WoW started tickets?????
a ticket is a form letter sent to the support team when certain problems arise and is filled out directly on the website, they have you answer some question to route your email to the correct person/ people to try and fix your problem.
So with that I say to the OP, you are not the first and you won't be the last they will reinstate your account if you didn't do anything wrong. Also Don't be deterred by the form letter that will follow stating that they have evidence of you being a bot. Just keep sending those tickets their way.

Same thing happened to me on my third ban. I told them I was modifying textures with TexMod, and after about an hour and only two e-mails I was relieved of my ban. Dunno if mentioning the word "TexMod" made a difference or not, though.

Luckily Ive never been banned, but I do know that the arena net staff are NOT robots, they ARE human, and there just arent enough of them to monitor every tiny thing. Really, they do thier best, but its likely that with as many botters as there are, they cant really do a whole lot without banning some people who arent. Its like in a sting op. THey dont catch the street dealer- they go for his supplier, but sometimes others get caught in the middle.

The thing I find MOST amusing is that the majority of botters use a Mo/Me or Me/Mo build in very specific areas.
And I have neither type of character. And since I don't use third party programs, does that mean I was banned because some pissant in the game got mad because I have Vabbi armor and they don't?
It seems weak that someone could be banned on another user's word.

Unfortunately, there are some people asinine enough to try and get other people banned over stupid stuff like this. A friend of mine got a 72 hour ban for using the phrase "stuff it".

I think anet are trying to cut down on server load by randomly banning people, there was a thread on GWO about people getting banned for using prohibited words in guildchat and PM's.

Well, instead of summarily banning a player, would it not make sense to verify the "incident" or at least allow the accused player o give their side of the story?
I realize that would incrase the amount of oversight needed, but still, I'd rather bots stay in game before seeing innocent players banned without... trial lol.
Just seems odd to take one player's word over another's, especially given the nature of the Internet and online gaming being a bastion for fools and the cloak of anonymity that allows people to act the fool.
I still haven't received a response from NCSoft, this after transmitting the account details they asked for some five or six hours ago. I've had concerns before about the game and the direction it was headed, but this is the last straw. Its actually kind of insulting.

Keep bugging them with repeals until they crack.
Usually if you're truly not guilty then you should be unbanned.

Ticket systems are standard in all support jobs. We call them "tickets", even when there's no real hard-paper ticket around.
Your issue has a number, however--a "ticket" number. Eventually, someone will get to it.

I'm on day 2 of trying to get a password reset with support. Currently I have had four people address my simple "Password reset" ticket.
What does this have to do with your ban?
Nothing, but it's just to show you that regardless of what your issue is, it will take some time. As everyone above has said, you have to keep at them. Don't give up. As much as you think that it's painful and frustrating to keep going back and forth and back and forth with emails (Much like dealing with a government department), eventually you will get a result.
Your not the first person to be banned either mistakenly or not, if I had to go through a ban (Permanent or not) right now, I would implode with such rage that I think I would be driven to drink copious amounts of alcoholic beverages and much nashings of teeth.
I predict if you did keep emailing for the next 3 days, and write back to them everytime that someone contacts you, that your ban will either vindicate you or prove that your ban was justified.
Good luck!
